HARDIN COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL

ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIP

 

Horse Creek Wildlife Sanctuary and Animal Refuge provides an annual 4 year scholarship to a graduating senior of Hardin County High School.

  • The recipient must maintain enrollment in a two- or four-year degree program at an accredited college, university, or trade school.
  • Study may be in any discipline selected by the student.
  • The award amount will be $2,000 per semester, renewable for eight (8) semesters, providing the recipient carries a full-time credit load and maintains an annual grade point average of at least 2.5.

Chelsi Fasking - 2007 Recipient

The recipient of the scholarship will be selected each year based on the following criteria:

Residency

  • The student will be a U. S. citizen and a resident of Hardin County, Tennessee.

Academic Record

  • The student will graduate high school with a grade point average of at least 2.5.

 

Kristie Irivin - 2006 Recipient 

Financial Need

  • The student will have a demonstrated need for financial assistance.
  • The student will not receive funds from any other scholarships or awards during the school's annual awards process.

Selection Process

A Selection Committee will be determined each year by the Principal of Hardin County High School. The Committee will consist of two senior class teachers and one other staff member.

In addition, the Administrative Manager of Horse Creek Wildlife Sanctuary and Animal Refuge will observe the selection process.

Subjective Criteria

All of the above criteria must be met for a student to be considered. In addition, the following items will be weighed in the final selection process: character, attendance, attitude, potential, career identification and preparation.
