Horse Creek Wildlife Sanctuary, in partnership with Dr. Don Edwards, welcomes veterinary students from Mississippi State University for externship programs. In addition to spending time under the tutelage of Dr. Edwards in his Savannah practice, they spend time here with our animals. The students see some of the joys and sorrows of caring for abandoned and abused dogs. |

These caring future veterinarians are interested in the aspects of rescue medicine. We appreciate the contributions they make during their time here. Our hope for them as they enter their careers is that they have great empathy for animals, as well as understanding and respect for those who are involved in the rescue and rehabilitation process.
