VETERINARY EXTERNSHIP PROGRAM |
Horse Creek Wildlife Sanctuary, in partnership with Dr. Don Edwards, welcomes veterinary students from Mississippi State University for externship programs. In addition to spending time under the tutelage of Dr. Edwards in his Savannah practice, they spend time here with our animals. |

The students see some
of the joys and sorrows of caring for abandoned and abused dogs. These caring future veterinarians
are interested in the aspects of rescue medicine. We appreciate
the contributions they make during their time here. We hope as
they enter their careers in the animal care field they take with
them from Horse Creek great empathy for the animals, as well
as understanding and respect for those who are involved in the
rescue and rehabilitation process. |
The
students live in the log cabin on Horse Creek during their externship and enjoy the pleasures of the sanctuary in their valueable spare moments. |
