ZOLA

Zola’s estimated birthday: May 7, 2005

Estimated Weight: 52 lbs.

Zola arrived at Horse Creek from the animal shelter on May 7, 2009.  Definitely a boxer mix, she could be all boxer.  She is extremely friendly and has begging eyes.

She had heartworms when she first came here, but they were treated and she has been on routine heartworm prevention since.  But during her treatments we realized that she sometimes could not control her urinary function.  After much observation, testing, and evaluation, it was determined that she had a hormonal imbalance.  Another indication of this imbalance was a darkening of the skin inside her ears and on the back of her legs.  You would never notice it unless you knew what to look for.

She requires a pill once a week to maintain her hormone balance and urinary function.  With the pill, her life is totally normal.  The cost of her weekly pill is only about 80 cents.

Zola is a very sweet girl.  She showed great patience with us during her treatments.  Now she romps and plays and has a great time!  She will make a great addition to any home where she can be loved and cared for always.  She would, of course, prefer to be in charge and have all your attention!   Please consider giving this girl a chance at a great life!
