VELVET

Velvet’s approximate birthday: September 12, 2007

Velvet, along with her sisters, Brava and Ohlin, arrived at Horse Creek on December 5, 2007.  We were told that they had been found wandering along a busy highway and a concerned citizen saved them and took them to the shelter.

Velvet has thrived here.  She is a very healthy and happy girl.  She has received all of her vaccinations and she has been spayed.  She is not going to be a large dog--maybe 35 to 40 pounds when full grown.

Velvet is a very special girl.  She is very sweet and loves playing with her siblings and other dogs.  She loves attention from people and would make a wonderful addition to someone’s loving home.

Velvet was named for VELVET, a black lab mix, who suffered cuts and abrasions and frostbite but stayed with her owner and two other mountain climbers, covering them with her body to provide heat, until they were rescued on Mount Hood in February, 2007
