Sky arrived at Horse Creek on March 9, 2007. She was checked over by our veterinarian, and he said she was a very healthy girl-she had a few intestinal worms, but nothing we couldn't get rid of right away. Although we are not experts, she sure looks a lot like a Mountain Cur.

We noticed she had a funny spot on her right front shoulder. The vet removed it, and tests confirmed it was a cyst caused by an earlier bee sting! (Bet that hurt!) This was no big deal, but Sky feels better knowing that her forever family won't have to be concerned about it.

Sky is a very sweet, loving girl. She adores being petted and loved. She plays well with all the other dogs and puppies. She is a shy girl-it will take her a while to get accustomed to a new environment and feel safe. She will need a couple of weeks of quiet love and reinforcement to reveal her loving nature. The rewards will be wonderful.

She has received her routine vaccinations and was spayed. Now that she has all that stuff behind her, she can begin her hunt for the perfect home.

Sky was named in tribute to Search and Rescue K-9, SKY, who served at the Pentagon following the September 11th terrorist strikes on America. You can read her story in Dog Heroes of September 11th by Nora Kilgore Bauer.
