RILEY

Riley’s estimated birthday:

April 12, 2006

What's in a name? See below!

Riley arrived at Horse Creek on October 12, 2007.  He was found wandering along a busy highway by a kind citizen.  He was undernourished and he had injuries to his legs and face--it was apparent that he had been hit by a vehicle and living on the streets for some time.

We immediately took him to our veterinarian to be checked over.  He was X-rayed and he was checked for heartworms.  No broken bones and no heartworms!!  Riley is a very lucky boy.  All he needed was antibiotics and a little time to heal his wounds.  He was very trusting and friendly with us from the start.

We believe Riley is a Boxer/Lab mix. He has definantly got the nose of a Boxer. He has been neutered and he has received his vaccinations. He is very energetic and loves to play with other dogs, but prefers people.

Riley would be a great addition to a caring home.

Just give him a chance to win your heart!

Riley was named in tribute to Search and Rescue K-9, RILEY, who served at the World Trade Center following the September 11th terrorist strikes on America. You can read his story in Dog Heroes of September 11th by Nora Kilgore Bauer.
