Queenie is a precocious pointer mix with adorable
markings. Queenie came to us from the Animal Shelter on May 10,
2001. Queenie has had a few bumps along the way, like we all
do. Shortly after arriving, she had an infection in her eye--probably
caused by being hit on the head. We treated the eye, and there
will never be a recurrence.
Queenie got over that hurdle, and she started feeling
much better and having a great time. But then she started to
have seizures-very infrequently, but seizures, nonetheless. We
did all the appropriate testing, and there is no definitive reason
for the episodes. They just happen to some dogs. Queenie is on
a medication that prevents these seizures. As long as she gets
it every day, she is better than OK! The medicine is not expensive,
and she will have our entire supply in her dowry.
Queenie gets so excited for attention that she will run in circles
swinging her tail like a weapon! After a few minutes of realizing
she has the attention, she calms down and is an angel.
We have kept Queenie with us for a long time (probably
longer than we should have) to ensure that she is stable. We
have become very attached to her, and she doesn't remember another
life. But we have come to realize that she is FINE and is ready
to move ahead. She has been spayed and is current on all of her
vaccinations. She needs an understanding family who will give
her the opportunity she deserves in exchange for a lifetime of
loyalty, gratitude, and love. She is very special.
