NEMO

Nemo’s birthday:

September 4, 2007

What's in a name? See below!

Nemo, along with his siblings, Ana, Hawk, Cara, Jerry and Sniper, arrived at Horse Creek on October 10, 2007, from the animal shelter.  Nemo is one of two boys in the litter.

Their loving and devoted mother is Boomer, who had to be treated for heartworms as soon as she weaned the pups and gained her strength.  We don’t know who the father of these babies is, but their mom only weighs 20 pounds.

Nemo had what they call “cherry eye” in each eye—a problem with tear ducts.  He had to have eye surgery, which was done successfully.  This eye problem should not return, and there are no long-term health effects.

Nemo has been neutered and has received his final vaccinations.

Nemo is black and white.  He is one of the friendliest of the puppies.  He is ready to play ALL OF THE TIME.  He would love to be part of a loving and caring family forever.

Nemo was named in tribute to Search and Rescue K-9, NEMO, who served at the Fresh Kills Landfill following the September 11th terrorist strikes on America. You can read his story in Dog Heroes of September 11th by Nora Kilgore Bauer.
