Goldie came to Horse Creek from the Animal
Shelter on February 20, 2005. A beautiful, small mixed breed,
she was about two years old and very loving and friendly.
We do know that Goldie had probably had puppies
at some time in her past. We know that she had a broken front
tooth. That's not much of a history, but it's all she has. She's
so affectionate that she must have had a caring family at some
time, but somebody definitely dropped the ball regarding her
care.
When Goldie came, almost all of her hair was gone,
her skin was red and very itchy, and she was totally miserable.
We tried many things to help her, and we definitely made her
more comfortable quickly. After trial and error, we did testing
to determine that she has allergies. She is now on allergy shots
and well on her way to a happy, comfortable life. She will always
need an occasional allergy shot (about once a month) to keep
her safe and comfortable. But this is relatively inexpensive
and a small price to pay for such a wonderful lady.
Goldie has had all of her vaccinations, and she would love to
pack her bags and kiss us all goodbye as soon as she stabilizes
on her allergy meds. She says she'll miss us, but she knows we
won't forget her. |
