Bitsy arrived at Horse Creek on January 3, 2010.  We learned that she had lost her home due to financial problems in her owner’s life.  She had obviously been well cared for and sorely missed her home.

About two weeks after she arrived here, she started vomiting and having some diarrhea.  She was taken to our veterinarian for an examination, blood work and x-rays.  It seemed that she might have a blockage in her stomach.  More extensive x-rays where done and it was decided that an exploratory surgery was necessary.  They discovered that she had some ulcers and lots of inflammation in her stomach, which was not allowing food to pass through.  She has been on stomach medications and a special diet and appears to be doing well. 

It seems to all of us that Bitsy’s body reacted to her situation, and the stress of losing her home was more than she could handle.  We have all tried to help her with this transition.  Bitsy is doing much better!  She is fitting in to her home here and making new friends.

Bitsy is an extremely sweet girl.  She plays well with other dogs, but she prefers attention from people!!
